WHAT TO EXPECT

Weather is always a factor when fishing on the Kenai River in Alaska so check the forecast but realize that conditions can change suddenly so be prepared to dress appropriately for many different and varying conditions. You must have rain gear, sunscreen and layered clothing.

There will be ample opportunity for photographs on your Alaskan fishing trip so make sure you have a good camera along that can withstand the elements.

When it comes to Kenai river fishing trout and sockeye salmon opens on June 11. Rainbow trout and Dolly Varden are prolific all year long. Anglers that are seeking world-class trophy rainbow trout should concentrate their efforts during the autumn months.

The sockeye salmon are at peak abundance from mid-July through the first week of August.

Silver salmon fishing is best from the third week of August through the end of October.

Anglers must provide their own fishing license, lunch or snacks and beverages. Arrangements can be made to provide food and drink for additional cost.

The Kenai River fishing guides will provide the boat and all fishing gear. Guides will also clean fish and provide all the necessary expertise for a quality trip tailored to the angler’s needs.

All trips are conducted out of a custom-built 20-foot drift boat. All rods and reels are G.Loomis, Sage, Lamson and Shimano. Anglers are welcome to bring their own rods, reels and tackle if they prefer.

Better than 99 percent of the other fisherman on the Kenai. He knows his stuff and really tries to not only get you on the fish but teach you as well. Had lots of fun and got lots of good video too.

My son really wanted to fish on our trip to Alaska and not being a fisherman myself, I figured the best option was a guide. Not only did Jason accommodate our last minute scheduling, but he ensured we had a great time, caught the fish, and best of all, made memories that will last a lifetime. ps. Even this "non-fisherman" caught a few! Highly recommend Jason to anyone.

Got to Alaska on Sunday August 5. Found out Jason and his wife delivered their first Baby on Saturday. Congrats to the happy and blessed family. Jason's other guide Collin was nice enough to cover our trip. Literally from the time the first fly hit the Upper Kenai to the last 20 plus inch Rainbow was in the net nearly 5 hours later, we were on fish. Collins attention to detail, knowledge of the river and bugs as well as instruction for our novice anglers was outstanding. Oh and goes without saying. "THIS KID CAN FLAT FISH" If you are looking for a top Guide service look no further. You need to fish with these guys. Thanks so much for a very memorable day. Allan and Tina Simpson. Cant wait to come back ice fishing with Jason later on. This was so much fun and we saw all kinds of wildlife. Caught fish too. No giants but that doesnt matter. Its just fun being out there and learning.

Never disappointing with Jason on the Kenai. The guy flat out knows his stuff and what to do in certain situations. I also felt very safe with him out on the water. Taught me a lot and I hope to visit Cooper Landing again soon
